HORSEMEN BE THERE

Horses and horsemen are mentioned over 175 times in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Horsemen in scripture both rode horses and drove chariots pulled by horses. The Egyptian pharaohs were known for their beautiful Arabian horses and trained horsemen. Moses and the Israelites on foot were pursued by Pharaoh’s horsemen in chariots. The Lord said “The Egyptians will know that I am the Lord when I gain glory through Pharaoh, his chariots and his horsemen.” The wheels came off their chariots and the divided sea waters flowed back over the horsemen. The Israelites put their trust in the Lord and gave Him glory.

King Solomon is known for his great wisdom but few know that he was likely the greatest horseman ever. He accumulated 12,000 horses and built 4000 horse stalls through out his kingdom. He had 1400 chariots and trained horsemen to drive them. These were expensive horses and chariots imported from Egypt and Kue. Can you imagine owning or running such a stable? Later in Ecclesiastes, Solomon wrote that his great wealth and possessions did not bring satisfaction.

The four gospels written about Jesus’ life and teachings, do not mention horses. The Romans and wealthy undoubtedly had horses but Jesus never mentions horses in his parables or teachings. He did ride into Jerusalem on a donkey. Zechariah had prophesized 500 years earlier that the King of Zion would come riding on a colt, the foal of a donkey, rather than a horse which would have been more appropriate for a king.

However in Heaven, Christ is pictured riding on a white horse leading the armies of heaven also riding on white horses. This is an awesome picture of a mighty warrior and king riding his white horse into battle. Will you be riding a white horse in His armies of heaven? BE THERE with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords when He fights and defeats the enemy. You can ride with Him if you have confessed Him as your savior and lord and accepted His gift of eternal life in Heaven. Horsemen will BE THERE riding on white horses or driving one of God’s 1,000,000 chariots.
